SSA Alumni Association
Established in 1929, the Alumni Association strengthens and maintains links between the School and its more than 7,000 graduates. The Alumni Association promotes the School's goals and objectives through volunteer service and generous financial support, furthers the interests of alumni, and provides a bridge between alumni and the School. The Alumni Association offers programs and activities designed to engage its members with the School and contribute to individual and institutional advancement.

2007-2008 Alumni Association Committees
The Alumni Association implements programs and accomplishes many tasks through its committee volunteers. Alumni who wish to get involved in the SSA Alumni Association may contact the committee chairs listed or the Alumni Association Office.
- Alumni Awards Committee - The Awards Committee solicits and reviews candidates and selects recipients for the Edith Abbott Lifetime Achievement Award and the Elizabeth Butler Award honoring recent graduates of the School. Co-chairs: Annie Rosenthal and Thomas Wedekind.
- Alumni Engagement Committee - The Alumni Engagement Committee works work to recruit regional alumni volunteers in key markets and work with them to develop contacts, communications, as they plan and promote events for SSA alumni within their region. The committee also recruits reunion volunteers and actively reaches out to alumni making interpersonal connections with telephone calls, notes, emails, etc., to ensure high alumni participation in Alumni Weekend activities. They develop ways to increase the visibility of alumni achievements and their impact on the social work professional and society. Chair: Richard Scott.
- Alumni - Student Committee - The Alumni-Student Committee works with the Dean of Students Office to plan and implement initiatives that enhance student and alumni relations. Chair: Peter Chapman.
- Networking and Professional Development Committee - The Networking and Professional Development Committee advises alumni and students on how to develop peer support groups that strengthen your network and enhance your professional interests. The committee also works to plan and coordinate events that facilitate social and professional networking among alumni. Co-chairs: April Porter, Yvonne Gillie-Wallace, Gwyn Volk.
- Nominating Committee - The Nominating Committee recruits alumni to serve of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and presents the candidates to the Board for election. Chair: Tammy Blackard.
