Melissa Roderick, the Hermon Dunlop Smith Professor and senior director of UChicago's Consortium on Chicago School Research, founded the Network for College Success in 2006 after principals told her that her pioneering research was wonderful, but they needed a way to interpret and implement it.

This year, the network is in nearly a dozen CPS schools. It is focused on cultivating leaders, offering research and providing support and guidance to principals and their in-house leadership teams.
