A proponent of translational research, Clark has worked not only as an academic but as a clinician and researcher in adult and child forensic mental health, focusing on the relationship between mental health systems and the justice system.

Since 1981, Reverend Michael L. Pfleger has been Pastor of Saint Sabina Church. Father Pfleger is the founder of the Employment Resource Center, the Ark Youth Center, Saint Sabina Social Service Center, Thea Bowman Spiritual Advance Center, Samaritan House for the homeless, Saint Sabina 80-unit Elders Village and the Beloved Community, Inc.

Reverend Pfleger has been recognized for his fight against guns, alcohol and tobacco billboards, drugs and racism.

Alumni Hooding Ceremony

Following the Social Justice Address, SSA alumni who graduated prior to 2004 will receive their convocation hoods (the class of 2004 participated in the first SSA Hooding Ceremony). The hoods represent a recognition of their education achievements and honor them as champions of social justice in their commitment as social workers to advance a more just and humane society.
