Tips for planning a career

  1. Do your research on what skills and knowledge base are required for that path. Take a look at current job postings to learn about what employers are looking for in a job candidate.
  2. Meet alumni or other practioners in that field and do informational interviews with them on a regular basis BEFORE you start a job search.
  3. Network. Network. Network.
  4. Always have an excellent, updated resume and cover letter.
  5. Acquire very good interviewing skills.
