Admissions

The admissions objective of the Graduate Program in Health Administration and Policy is to identify and recruit well qualified candidates who are committed to pursuing careers in health care or health-related fields; and to foster a well-balanced, interdisciplinary GPHAP student body.

GPHAP candidates must:

• Be accepted as a first-year student at Booth, Harris or SSA (second-year students are not eligible to apply to GPHAP); Law School students participate during the second and third years of their degree program.
• Have previous experience in the health care field or an expressed commitment to pursue a career in health care.
• Have the ability to meet academic, co-curricular and field experience requirements

Procedures

The application deadline is the first week of September each year. Please indicate your interest in either the Certificate in Health Administration and Policy (U.S. Health Care System) or the Certificate in Health Administration and Policy with a Concentration in Global Health. Incoming students should submit a complete application to the GPHAP Program Director, either by email or regular mail.

Applications received by the deadline will be notified mid to late September. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a rolling basis, as space permits.

A complete application includes:

1. Completed application form, 
2. A resume or curriculum vita, and
3. A 2-3 page personal statement describing: a) past experience in the health-care field, b) areas of interest in health care, including future goals, and c) how GPHAP will help the applicant to achieve his or her goals.
