As the numbers of forcibly displaced people around the world continue to rise, some Americans believe that more refugees should be resettled in this country and others fear terrorists will exploit the program to spread mayhem. Candidate Donald Trump criticized the Obama Administration refugee and immigration policies and, as President, has sought to limit the numbers admitted and ban admissions from several majority-Muslim countries. Anne C. Richard will discuss Obama Administration aims, the concerns voiced by Members of Congress, and the steps the Trump Administration has taken to scale back the refugee admissions program.
