The African American Alumni Committee of the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration was proud to present this year's symposium, "Phenomenal Black Women and Girls: Transcending Disparities and Social and Cultural Violence in Multiple Systems."

The keynote was "Advancing Equity: Balancing Policy, Programs, Partnerships, and Politics" presented by Kimberlyn Leary, Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow and Advisor to the White House Council on Women and Girls.

The youth keynote speaker was Jaquta Box, and panelists included Nneka Jones Tapia, Executive Director of Cook County Jail, Chicago, and Kimberly Foxx, Former Chief of Staff for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. The moderator was Mary Mitchell, columnist, Chicago Sun-Times.
