Papers must be 12 - 20 pages in length, double-spaced, and can be authored by one or multiple persons. Topics must relate to either clinical or administrative social work. Submissions will be reviewed anonymously by the editorial board in the winter for publication in the 2013 Advocates' Forum issue. For more detailed guidelines, please review the list below:
- Papers should be emailed to Virginia Parks, faculty adviser to Advocate's Forum, at vparks@uchicago.edu.
- Submissions should be 3300-5500 words or 12-20 pages (12 point Times New Roman font).
- Citations should conform to the author-date system in The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th ed., 2010.
- Papers should be double-spaced.
- Please include the following information in the body of your email: Author(s)' full name and contact info; year of SSA graduation; and title of submission.
- Authors should attach their articles to the email (MS Word compatible).
- Other material submitted should include a title page (which should only list the title of the paper), an abstract (100 word limit), and references cited in the article. The title page, abstract, and references should all be on separate pages.
- The order of the submission should be:
IN THE BODY OF THE EMAIL
1) Author(s)' full name and contact info; 2) year of SSA graduation; 3) and title of submission.
IN A SINGLE DOCUMENT ATTACHMENT
1) title page; 2) abstract page; 3) article; 4) references - References must be cited in text as well as on a separate reference page.
- Submissions should be academic or scholarly research papers.
- Papers can be from a course, field placement, or independent project.
- Submissions should be on issues related to either clinical or administrative social work.
- Papers may be submitted by one or multiple authors.
- All authors will receive a confirmation of email receipt upon submission. Please contact the co-editors if you do not receive an email receipt within one week of your submission.
- Each student may only be part of one submission. ONE submission per student.
