Experts predict that people age 65 and older will represent nearly 20% of the U.S. population by 2030. Currently, social workers in most settings work with older adults and their families on a regular basis yet may not have specialized training for the unique psychosocial issues facing this population.
SSA’s Social Work with Older Adults Program is designed for professionals with post-graduate experience who want to enhance their knowledge about work with older adults. Courses will provide information on contemporary theories and best practices in work with older adults and their families. Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to integrate these new competencies into their daily practice.
The program structure emphasizes participation with a cohort of colleagues. This will expand perspectives on ways to apply knowledge. It will also create a network of peers for continued learning.

Completed applications must be received or submitted online to the Professional Development Program Office by June 1, 2013. Early applications are encouraged.
ELIGIBILITY
A master's degree in social work or related field required. Five to seven years of post-graduate experience preferred.
CREDIT
A certificate will be awarded for 24 hours of continuing education (CEUs) at the completion of the program.

$625.00
