About the Professional Development Program
The Professional Development Program (PDP) at The University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration is distinguished by its quality instruction and substantive exploration of clinical and management practice issues. Grounded in the dynamic interplay of theory, research, and practice, these seminars and workshops are intended to inform participants and also challenge them to integrate new learning into their daily practice.
The program is designed to serve the educational needs of practicing social workers, clinicians, and human service professionals who wish to update their knowledge of theoretical advances and current research findings while enhancing their skills. SSA faculty as well as distinguished guest scholars and practitioners teach PDP offerings. The curriculum covers a wide range of content, emphasizing throughout the mutuality of research and practice.
Continuing education credit (CEC) is available to meet state licensing requirements and to give recognition of personal initiative and growth. We welcome your suggestions for improving our professional development program, enhancing its interest, accessibility, and relevance, and increasing our contribution to excellence in clinical and management practice. For more information, or to be added to our mailing list, please call (773) 702-1166.
