A proponent of translational research, Clark has worked not only as an academic but as a clinician and researcher in adult and child forensic mental health, focusing on the relationship between mental health systems and the justice system.
The Rhoda Sarnat Lecture is funded in part by the Rhoda G. Sarnat Lecture fund, founded at the University of Chicago. The lecture is delivered annually at the School of Social Service Administration by a prominent researcher or practitioner on a topic especially pertinent to clinical social work.

When Jelani McEwen begins his new job as Charter Support Manager of the Illinois Network of Charter Schools upon graduation from the School of Social Service Administration in June 2013, in some ways he will have come full circle.
