Living Accomodations
The University of Chicago provides a variety of living options for its graduate students, their families, and domestic partners. For single students, the choices include International House and Neighborhood Student Apartments. For married students or students with a domestic partner, Neighborhood Student Apartments offer arrangements suitable for couples and families.

I-House is designed to provide living arrangements for graduate students, interns, and visiting scholars from the U.S. and around the world. Accommodations are also available in the summer on a short-term or transient basis for members of workshops, seminars, training conferences, and other special programs.

Graduate students who are single, married, or in a domestic partnership, and who are registered and making normal progress towards their degrees are eligible to live in Neighborhood Student Apartments, which includes 1,200 apartments located around and within the campus area. Apartment sizes vary from efficiency units (studios) to large three-bedroom apartments, and amenity variables include: furnished / unfurnished; walk-up / elevator buildings; parking.
Single students may live in single occupancy and shared apartments. Couples with children are given priority for the two- and three-bedroom apartments. Additional information on housing options, including current costs, is sent to all newly admitted students.
