SSA's Hooding Ceremony was held at Rockefeller Chapel on Friday, June 8, 2012. Congratulations to Lela Saffle on receiving the Wilma Walker Honor Award for outstanding work in the first year and promise for future achievements in social work; Laura Sutherland for the Sonia Berz Honor Award for outstanding work and promise in the field of aging; Akua Agyeman for the Evelyn Harris Ginsburg Memorial Prize for outstanding work and promise for work in schools; and Lindsey Whitlock for the Solomon O. Lichter Memorial Prize for scholarship and professional leadership.
The University of Chicago's 511th Convocation was held in the Main Quadrangle on Saturday, June 9. It was followed by a reception for the graduates and their family and friends at SSA.

2012 Advocates' Forum
Advocates’ Forum is an academic journal that explores implications of clinical social work practice, social issues, administration, and public policies linked to the social work profession. The Editorial Board of Advocates’ Forum seeks to provide a medium through which SSA students can contribute to public thinking about social welfare and policy in theory and practice. Above all, Advocates’ Forum serves to encourage and facilitate an open, scholarly exchange of ideas among individuals working toward the shared goal of a more just and humane society.
