SSA has partnered with the non-profit Lawrence Hall to open a new cafe in the School. Lawrence Hall is a Chicago-based agency that provides programs that include foster care, transitional living support for youth aging out of foster care, education, therapeutic treatment, and a workforce development program called Project Work. Try-Me's is a culinary arts program within Project Work, and the Try-Me's Café at SSA is Lawrence Hall's first job-training commercial café. If you cannot make it to the Tasting Party, we hope that you visit the Café -- and the student trainees -- in the near future.
