FAQ's about Washington Week

Below please find top questions about Washington Week

Washington Week is an opportunity for Crown Family School students to meet with Crown Family School alumni working in the DC area during spring break. The week is also an opportunity to visit different agencies in the DC area and explore careers in advocacy, research, lobbying, program management, policy analysis, and more.

As the nation's capital, Washington, DC is the primary city where one would pursue a career in national programs, policies, agencies, organizations, and departments. It is also home to a large network of Crown Family School alumni.

All Crown Family School Students can participate. Washington Week is a great opportunity for students at any level of their studies.

For instance, first-year students get a chance to think about the career paths that are available in areas of research, advocacy, policy analysis, policy making, government, non-profit, think tanks, program management, and more. It's a great way to build your network and make personal contacts with alumni who can help guide them in making choices during their second year to help facilitate a career in these areas.

Also graduating students make contacts and can gather information about hiring opportunities as they plan a potential career in the DC area.

This can still be a worthwhile experience for clinical students who have an interest in non-clinical or policy-related or program management career paths.

Students who attend can select customize the experience they will have during Washington Week. The Career and Leadership Development Office will provide students with a list of Alumni who will be available so students can choose the itinerary that best suits their interests based on the schedule.

Students will also have a chance to engage in a combination of informal receptions and formal visits to agencies in DC.

Washington Week takes place during Spring Break every year.
