The Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice congratulates Julia R. Henly, who was selected as the 2023 recipient of the Faculty Award for Educational Leadership in Doctoral Education by the Group for the Advancement of Doctoral Education in Social Work (GADE)

This esteemed accolade is conferred upon a distinguished current or former faculty member from a member institution whose profound contributions have played a pivotal role in advancing doctoral education within the realm of social work.

Professor Henly's research agenda aims to advance understanding of low-income families' economic and caregiving strategies to inform the design and effectiveness of work-family policies and public benefits, especially child care policy. Her ongoing projects are funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Administration for Children and Families, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, and WorkRise.
